1960s Fisher Price Pull-a-Tune Xylophone Pull Toy

Vintage Fisher Price Pull-a-Tune Wood and Metal Xylophone Pull Toy- Early version
This pull toy was in every toddler's house in the late 1950s and beyond. It was such fun to pull along and listen to it playing music on its own. This particular one had a busy life as we used to pull it behind tricycles ridden at top speed around the basement. It also was great fun to play "music" on it using the attached mallet. I have no idea how this sturdy toy stayed intact but it did! The pull action makes music still but not quite as well as it did in the past- it skips a few notes.
Not sure that it would meet today's safety standards but it is such an iconic toy that it must belong in someone's collection.
