    Description

This listing is for an Antique Meiji Kutani Porcelain Tea Set made in the Shoza style. This matched oversized tea set includes 17 pieces in all: a teapot & lid, a creamer, a sugar bowl and lid, six cups and six saucers.
The pieces are marked Kutani and most likely made in the late Meiji period.  They are hand painted with birds in very beautiful Shoza style with gold accents on an iron red base with some pale washes and black accents.  This set was probably made as export ware.
