    Description

    This beautiful headrest is made of a single piece of wood and carved into shape. The dark wood makes for a wonderfully balanced decoration for your home, office, or any setting. Whether grouped or standing alone, it adds a touch of the exotic to any room — the more aged the headrest, the shinier, and the smoother the wood looks.
    Wooden headrests are used while sleeping or resting to keep the head and the neck lifted above a mat. Also, they are used to protect carefully decorated hair. These objects were considered comfortable and functional because they aligned the spine and raised the head above the ground.
    Although they are not widely used by Ethiopia's tribal men today, young men still make headrests there to mark their passing from boyhood to manhood.
