Pair of African Soapstone Carved Twisted Soapstone - Oryx Kenya

Description

A pair of beautiful hand-carved African soapstone twisted candlesticks. Painted blue and tan with a tree and a horned quadruped (oryx ?). Approximately 6.25" tall. Looks like they have never been used to hold candles. In wonderful condition - not sure of the age. Interesting video on how soapstone carvings are made: https://vimeo.com/120104136
We pack carefully and ship within 1-3 business days using USPS Priority mail. We often use recycled/reused materials with which we pack and ship our "found objects". It saves us money and the savings can then be passed onto our buyers, and in a small way it saves on natural resources so that we can pass those onto our grandchildren.
