This device is intended to help reduce the risk of accidental injury to a persons hands or fingers from a closing or slamming door, provided the device is correctly installed on the door according to the instructions included with the device.
The device should not be attached to anything other than a standard size residential interior door 1-3/8 inches (34.925 mm) thick.
Use of this device
does not guarantee
prevention of injury to a persons hands, fingers, head, arms, legs, feet or other body parts.
This device should be kept out of the reach of children as it may pose a choking hazard.
The device should never be thrown in the air or inserted in an electrical socket as it may result in serious injury and or damage to the product.
This device is not intended to be a substitute for adult supervision of children.
This device should be carefully inspected prior to installation
and
at least once a week after installation to make sure there are no physical defects in the device, such as cracks or deformities, which may result in failure of the device to work as intended.
In addition, the device should be inspected 3-4 times daily to ensure that it is properly positioned and securely attached to the door to prevent the device from sliding or falling off the door.
Frequent intentional slamming of the door on the device should be avoided as it may weaken or damage the device.
In case of damage, the device should be replaced immediately.
After the device is installed on the door, the installer of the device should point out its location to residents and visitors of the dwelling, and advise them to exercise caution while walking around the door to avoid walking into, or brushing against the device as this may cause injury.
