This auction is for a stunning and extremely rare Japanese Satsumi Samarai Portrait tea set.  It is in wonderful condition without any chips or cracks or crazing.
The gold is worn off the handle of the teapot and on some of the little cups otherwise...museum quality.
The teapot is 6.5" high.  The set includes 4 cups and saucers, teapot and lid, sugar bowl and lid and creamer.
The handpainted portraits are wonderful.
