    Description

    Vintage 1970s Ashanti Chief Stool or Throne or Bench. This stool is made entirely out of wood and was hand carved. In the Ashanti's history during the 17th century high priest and one of the founding chiefs,
    Okomfo Anokye, caused a golden stool to descend from the heavens. This Golden Stool was the seat of power for the Ashanti people and in keeping with tradition smaller Ashanti chiefdom's created their own chief stools to symbolize power.
    This particular Ashanti Stool has some chips, cracks, and scratches. There are also a variety of natural imperfections that come along with a hand carved piece.
