Vintage Choice Extra Large Beaded Yoruba Diviner's Shoulder Belt Reptile Nigeria

DESCRIPTION: Choice Vintage Yoruba Diviner's Shoulder Belt Reptile Motif, Handmade in Nigeria, Africa.  This is a nice Older example with beautiful beadwork- using gorgeous Antique European Seed Beads in Orange-Red Coral, Cobalt Blue, Green and  the Old Antique White seed beads, with highlights of Orange, Black, and Yellow.
It features the face of Eshu/Esu,
the divine messenger, able to communicate between the powerful Heaven and Earth Spirits, and part of the Yoruba Religion.
The backing is an Old Antique handwoven Yoruba Robe, which shows wear and tear, and dirt (see photos #10, #11, #12).  Most of these you find do not have the Antique seed beads and such great attention to detail.  This is just Wonderful!
SIZE:  Extra Large at ~61" not including loop at top.  The width at front feet side to side is ~16", Rear feet width side to side ~17.5", ~ 12" side to side mid portion.
WEIGHT: ~2 Pounds 2 Oz.
CONDITION:  Very Good Vintage Used Condition.  Beads are sewn on well and are intact. The cowrie shells on the feet are intact.  The beadwork is beautiful overall, and I'm not seeing any areas of damage.  They used an Old Yoruba handmade Robe for the backing, and it is worn, and dirty, however this does not show when hanging.
