What a find and treasure! This is a Japanese hand painted porcelain sake decanter that has the moriage design; is a lovely sage green with a burgundy and white raised design. The decanter has a gold bird on top and it is said that when pouring sake out of the spout, the bird whistles. It is from the 1930's and is in very fine condition. It is a tad worn on top of the porcelain lid. It measures 6" tall and 2 1/4" wide. It is six sided and each side measures 1 1/4" wide. It is very unique and has no chips or cracks. The design appears to be the bust of a Japanese lady in a tree. It's a beautiful little piece.
