Vintage South African Ndebele Mapoto Beaded Leather & Canvas Wedding Apron. Condition is "Used".
The Ndebele tribe from South Africa are renowned for their colorful beadwork.
The beadwork has always been a symbolism of status.
Ndebele beaded aprons are their most characteristic elaborate work signifying various status in womens role.
The Apron (Mapoto) was traditionally worn by the women on their wedding day.  Its made from sheep/goat skin with glass beads.
A canvas type material was used for the back of this Apron.  Approximate size is 18 inches wide and 20 inches long.  Good condition for it's age.  See photos to gauge overall condition for yourself.  Please contact seller before purchasing to address any concerns.
