Vintage uncommon West African wax print fabric - abstract painting #9

Description

This is from my personal collection of textiles acquired in Accra and Lagos around fifteen years ago, therefore vintage but in new/unused condition. I am listing several of these pieces which were all manufactured locally in Ghana or Nigeria. This type of fabric is extremely hard to find even when you’re living in West Africa; these are the errors at the end of the roll of factory made wax print fabric when the dye is splurging out in unexpected and undesired ways. I find them incredibly beautiful and painterly, each piece is unique. They could be used to make clothing or pillows, or framed as art.
This piece 45” (114cm) wide x 36” or 1yd (91cm) long. It’s in shades of orange, yellow, black and off-white. The fabric is 100% cotton and the print is two-sided [see photos].
